There are still no plans for return flights to Doncaster Sheffield (Robin Hood) Airport from Sharm el-Sheikh.
South Yorkshire residents have learnt this morning that they will be stranded for another day.
Thomson Airways was due to fly passengers back to Doncaster Sheffield (Robin Hood) Airport on Friday November 6, but that flight was cancelled at last minute and there has been no confirmation of when it will be rescheduled.
A statement from the firm said: “Thomson Airways can now confirm that the following flights from Sharm el Sheikh to the UK will be departing today, Monday November 9; TOM 899 to Manchester, TOM 665 to Birmingham, TOM 737 to London Gatwick and TOM 619 to Edinburgh.
“We continue to work with the U.K. Government to try and finalise our flying programme for the following days and we will update accordingly when further information becomes available.
“These flights will operate under special security measures mandated by the UK Government. Customers will not be able to bring any hold luggage with them on these flights. Only hand luggage can be brought on board and normal Thomson cabin baggage restrictions apply. All hold luggage will be returned to customers under separate secure cover arranged by the UK Government.
“All other customers remain in their hotels on the same board basis and our experienced resort team is keeping them up to date on the latest developments. Our UK team continues to liaise with the Government and the Egyptian authorities to try and resolve this fluid and continually evolving situation.
“We would like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused and would like to thank them for their continued patience. As this is a continuously evolving situation, customers are advised to refer to the noticeboards in the hotels or our website for the latest information.
“Customers in resort can also contact us 24-7 on Phone: 0 3333 365147 or text 82345.”
