A man was taken to hospital after a two car collision in Epworth last night.

Emergency services were called to the junction of West End Road and Station Road at 6.52pm on Wednesday September 24.

The incident involved two vehicles. A man in one of the cars managed to escape before the arrival of the fire service.

A spokesman said: “One adult male in the second car was medically trapped.”

Firefighters, assisted by paramedics, manipulated the casualty free before placing him onto a spinal board. He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

Both vehicles were made safe by disconnecting the batteries. Small tools and an air bag protector were in use.
