A CYCLIST has been killed after colliding with a 4X4 near Tickhill.
The 23-year-old man was riding a silver Carrera bike when a silver Land Rover Freelander collided with its rear wheel in Stripe Road.
The cyclist, from Bawtry, fell from the bike and hit the Freelander suffering fatal head injuries, police said. He has not yet been named.
The Freelander driver, an 85-year-old man was not injured. Both vehicles were travelling towards Rossington when the crash happened near the junction with High Common Lane just after 8.05pm yesterday.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Witnesses should call police on 0114 220 2020 quoting incident number 1,023 of September 8.
