A new trampoline class is helping youngsters to become bouncing fit at a Dearne leisure centre.
The sessions for children aged five and older are proving popular each week at Dearne Valley Leisure Centre in Mexborough.
Teacher Lorraine Mee, who has been teaching young people the bouncing skills for 27 years, said: “Trampolining is a great way for children to keep fit. They are learning new skills, exercising and having great fun along the way.
“We run extremely popular hour long sessions on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.
“The classes are mixed ability which is great for families with siblings who want to take the class together.
“Each child works towards achievements on our 20-point award chart and we work with them to take things at their own pace.
“Children travel from all over the region to attend these classes and we are hoping to be able to expand our program to meet demand.”
Kraig Kelly, head of leisure for Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust, who manage Dearne Valley Leisure Centre, added: “This is a very popular class and a great activity for children to try.
“Trampoline is one of the most exhilarating sports where you can experience the thrill of leaping higher than you ever have before.”
The sessions run in hourly slots from 4pm to 8pm on Fridays and from 9am to 12pm on Saturdays. To find out more or to book a place contact Dearne Valley Leisure Centre on 01709 589761.
