Woman sustains serious injuries in Doncaster collision

A 37-year-old woman driver has been left with serious injuries, following a collision with another car which was then abandoned by its owner.

She was driving a red Citroen C1 along Askern Road, Bentley at around 10.45pm last night when she was involved in a collision with a silver Citroen C3 Xsara Picasso.

It is alleged the driver of the Picasso did not remain at the scene and abandoned the vehicle, which has been recovered by police.

The woman, a 37-year-old Doncaster woman, remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Officers are trying to locate the driver of the Picasso and urge anyone with information to contact police.
