Top marks for Sheffield Wednesday scholars

A group of students from Sheffield Wednesday's education programme have shown an incredible level of learning for their first year of study by achieving the maximum grade possible and gaining distinctions in all units this academic year.

The students Chloe Toft, Patrick Stothard, Tayla Vorster, Keiran Mcarthur and Owen Ryan are currently studying the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport through the club’s education programme based at Hillsborough.

The course is available to 16-18 year olds and is delivered at the stadium and see’s students study 19 sports based modules. The course focuses on areas such as anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition and sports coaching and allows students to create an excellent foundation to progress to University.

First year student Patrick Stothard who has scored the highest possible marks on all course units said: “I have really enjoyed the first year of the course. It is a really relaxed environment which has allowed me to be successful and gain distinctions on all the units. I’m looking forward the next half of the course and developing what I’ve learnt this year.”
