A THRILLING charity football match between Doncaster police officers and council staff raised £400 for charity.

The end-to-end tie finished 4-4 after the police officers scored an 87th minute equaliser.

The money raised will go to the civic mayor’s Charity Fund, which will be used to provide activities across the borough for young people and to support the work of the Aurora Centre helping people affected by cancer.

Refereeing the game, Temporary Assistant Chief Constable, Bob Sanderson said: “These sporting events are a fun way for police staff and council colleagues to engage with each other, whilst also raising money for worthwhile charities.”
