Theatre in search for local panto talent

Sheffield Theatres, in partnership with Evolution Pantomimes, are searching for the Junior Ensemble for Cinderella, this year’s Lyceum Theatre pantomime, which runs from Friday December 7, 2012 to Sunday January 6, 2013.

The young ensemble will perform in Cinderella, alongside comedy favourite Damian Williams, who this year will appear as Buttons. A great opportunity for any child interested in performing, auditions will take place on Saturday 23 June at the Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield. Registration will take place at 9.15am with the auditions beginning at 9.45am. Auditionees must arrive at the main entrance of the Lyceum Theatre in Tudor Square.

Girls who wish to audition must be between the ages of 8 and 15 (inclusive) and boys who audition must be between the ages of 8 and 11 by Saturday, September 1 2012. As this is a dancing audition those wishing to participate must wear comfortable clothes, soft/dance shoes and bring drinking water. Successful auditionees, ideally from Yorkshire, must be available throughout the entire rehearsal and production period from Saturday November 17, 2012 – Sunday January 6, 2013.

Cinderella is the sixth pantomime that Sheffield Theatres will co-produce with Evolution Pantomimes and follows on from their hugely successful production of Sleeping Beauty last year.
