PATIENTS in Thorne have access to leisure facilities at a well being and fitness club in the borough thanks to lottery funding.

Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Trust (RDaSH) patients will be able to use facilities at the Keepmoat Stadium and at Doncaster Rovers’ training ground in Cantley Park.

The project aims to provide regular opportunities for mental health patients to increase their physical activity and access training to improve their health.

Each course will run every Wednesday for 12 weeks, with the first starting on July 13.

The RDash physiotherapy service will work alongside Doncaster Rovers staff and will support service users during the programme.

At the end of the programme the physiotherapy team will carry on supporting users wanting to carry on with physical activity.
