Having lost her mother, Lynne, to cancer in April last year, Lindsy felt inspired to take on this challenge and raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Ramathon’s official charity partner, and Rotherham Hospice.

The hospice staff and volunteers provided care and compassion to Lynne and also to Lindsy, who was pregnant with her son Archie at the time.

Lindsy will be splitting the funds she raises equally between both charities.

She said: “I want to achieve this for everyone who is going through cancer and their family and friends.

“I’m excited and apprehensive as I’ll need to be stronger and fitter than ever. Archie will be nearly nine months old and at least a stone by race day. He is loving our training runs.”

Lindsy will be aiming to beat the existing record of 90 minutes and 51 seconds, set in 2001 in the USA.
