Sanctuary Housing has launched the Get Snappy in Shiregreen competition, offering locals of all ages the chance to win a £50 shopping voucher for Meadowhall.

There are five categories to enter before the 13 March deadline. Judges will then select winning photographs to go on permanent display at the new £7 million Sycamore Heights scheme for over 55s, on the site of the former Woolley Wood School at Keppel Place.

The five categories to enter are:

Shiregreen landscape and environment

Shiregreen gardens and nature

Shiregreen buildings

Shiregreen festivals, events and people

Shiregreen historic photographs

Colleen Eccles, Sanctuary’s director of neighbourhoods, said: “We are looking for photographs for our new exciting development that capture the essence of Shiregreen, from the people to the scenery and history.

“These pictures will be enjoyed by residents for years to come, so we are looking forward to seeing what wonderful images are captured in this community project.”

The photos will make interesting viewing for residents at Sycamore Heights, which offers a mix of one and two-bed apartments for rent and was developed by Sanctuary with part-funding by the Homes and Communities agency.

Locals can enter up to four photos each that must be of sufficient quality to be enlarged to 15 x 10 inches for the competition, which is part-funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects that benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.

To enter, submit photographs along with full contact details and the category entered by email at; or by post to Shiregreen Photo Competition, Sanctuary Housing, 36a Beck Road, Shiregreen, Sheffield, S5 0GB.
