Vanity Hair salon owner Michelle Cooper, of Hatfield and staff, Suzie Whitley, Helen Sykes, Marie Gallagher, Chelsea Evans and Tiffany Evans organised a charity night at the Canal Tavern in Thorne to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.
The night was a great success, enjoyed by all and raised £1,039 for the worthy cause.
The evening opened with a few words from chemotherapy nurses Lara Cunnane-Reay, Katie Skinn, Kate McCabe and Alex Parry followed by a fun quiz, raffle, and games of bingo. Dawn Turner bid £70 to win a signed Manchester City shirt in the auction.
Michelle said: “I was inspired to arrange this charity night after a good friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer. Seeing Katie go through this difficult time made me want to support her and raise awareness.”
Through friends and clients they managed to sell over a hundred tickets and were lucky enough to receive donations from various local businesses.
Thanks to everyone involved for their support and kind donations with special thanks to businesses who donated prizes – The Canal Tavern, The Kings Chamber, Angeliques, Angels Boutique, Mumbai Restaurant, Deja Vu, The Bay Horse, Simply Nails and Cactus Jacks.
