The site in Hurst Lane covers and area of more than 34 acres and the Mosham Road site comprises of 23 acres.

Both are suitable for commercial and residential development, subject to planning consent from Doncaster Council, though an outline consent already exists for industrial, storage and distribution use for the Mosham Road site.

Tom Burlaga, surveyor at Lambert Smith Hampton, said: “The recent opening of the first phase of the Finningley And Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme has unlocked the potential of the two sites, reducing congestion and improving its connectivity by halving the journey times from the motorway.”

Officially called Great Yorkshire Way, the new FARRRS route links Doncaster Sheffield Airport with the M18 Motorway at Junction 3.

The first phase of the link road opened to motorists in February this year.

Work is now set to get underway on the final phase of the road later this year after councillors unanimously agreed to make a compulsory purchase order to acquire more land for the scheme. The order was made earlier this month after it was found more land was required for the link road development than originally anticipated following in-depth environmental surveys.

Work is set to get underway by the beginning of November and is expected to take around 14 months.
