Residents urged to join volunteers

REISDENTS in the Dearne Valley are being urged to join a volunteering group which aims to improve green spaces in the area.

The Conservation Volunteers have been working on the Winning the Hearts and Minds of South Yorkshire project to improve public areas since March.

Volunteers have learnt new skills and conserved a variety of habitats across the region including school nature gardens, urban parks and moorlands.

John Thompson, Senior Field Project Officer at The Conservation Volunteers, said: “This project is already making a difference to local green places and the communities that live and work near them.”
