With the Easter weekend well underway you may have a pile of empty Easter egg boxes building up.
All parts of the packaging can be recycled at Sainsbury’s, Edenthorpe, until April 14.
The specially designed Easter recycling facility allows customers to recycle the plastic, card and paper.
The scheme was launched last year and proved very popular with customers.
The Christmas card recycling scheme collected 88 tonnes of cards across the country, which amounted to a donation of £12,276 to the Forest Stewardship Council, helping to protect the world’s forests.
Sainsbury’s Head of Sustainability, Engineering, Energy & Environment Paul Crewe said: “We’re proud to offer the recycling facility to our customers and colleagues. Recycling is an important part of Sainsbury’s environmental commitment and the Christmas card and Easter egg recycling schemes have been really popular in the past, it’s a great way of reminding people to recycle.”
Easter themed activities are also taking place in store, including Easter raffle, Easter hunt and Easter photo booth.
All donations raised through the activities will go to CLIC Sargent Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year.
