So you think you have what it takes to sit in the famous black chair and have your general knowledge and choice of specialist subject tested to the limit?

Then why not prove it by putting yourself forward as a contestant for the next series of BBC Mastermind?

The iconic quiz show is looking for people to audition for its next series - and anyone can take part provided they are age 18 or over.

"Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be an expert or an academic to appear on Mastermind," says a spokesperson for the long-running BBC show.

"We want people who are passionate about their subject and have a good level of general knowledge.

"So whether your subject is Michelangelo or Michael Jackson, maybe you should think about applying.”

Unfortunately, there is no cash prize for the winner, just eternal bragging rights and the famous glass bowl.

All applicants must be over 18.
