A new factory which will help keep the nation running for years to come is to open in Doncaster next week.

The state of the art Doncaster Trackwork Moll plant, which will supply thousands of railways sleepers to Network Rail for use across the country, will open its doors for the first time next week.

The Ten Pound Walk plant, which will employ around 45 people, will supply around 400,000 concrete sleepers for the company to use around the rail network each year.

Between 700,000 and one million sleepers are needed each year to keep the railway running safely and reliably.

Doncaster was chosen for the site of the factory because of its central location and excellent rail links. The factory will also help to reduce costs.
