Police have raided properties in a Doncaster town today, in a bid to tackle ongoing problems with gang-related criminality.
A total of two warrants have been executed at properties in Oliver Street, Mexborough during the course of today.

A spokesman from South Yorkshire police told the Free Press: “The warrants form part of an ongoing operation to tackle criminality in the area.”
This follows a flare-up in tensions between two warring groups – identified by police as the Windhill Warriors and PSB ‘gangs’ – that has led to petrol bombs, machetes, and baseball bats all being used on the streets of Mexborough over the past few weeks.

Officers have also charged 21 individuals, all thought to belong to the two gangs, with a variety of offences including violent disorder, grievous bodily harm and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
