Police are helped by CCTV cameras

Neighbourhood officers have made the Potts Lane car park, St Oswald’s Church grounds and Church Street areas their number one priority.

This follows reports of antisocial behaviour, vehicle nuisance incidents in the car park and youths congregating at the church.

The temporary CCTV cameras have had an impact with latest figures showing only one logged call relating to Potts Lane during October, regarding speeding vehicles.

One male driver has been reported for summons regarding driving licence and insurance offences and two others have had warning letters over traffic offences.

There were no calls in October relating to antisocial behaviour or damage at the church although there was damage caused to fences on Vicars Walk.

Letters are also being posted to parents of any young person found in the church yard.
