A trio of Doncaster musicians are using their talents to raise money for a local charity this Christmas – with the support of other professional musicians from across the UK.

‘Yule love This Christmas’, an original song written and orchestrated by composer Geoffrey Hewitt, features the voices of Max Bowker and Dan Morris.

Both singers are sixth form students at The Hayfield Schoo in Doncaster. Recording artist Max performed on the BBC’s ‘Frank Sinatra: Our Way’ and Dan has acted in plays with the National Youth Theatre.

The song is inspired by a catalogue of Christmas classics and pays homage to the lush retro sounds of swing and vintage cinema.

A film to complement the song has been shot at various locations across Doncaster, including The Earl of Doncaster Hotel and St Catherine’s House.

Proceeds from the single will go to the Doncaster Foodbank – a project seeded by The Trussell Trust.

Geoffsaid: “This has been such a fantastic project to work on. I’ve been overwhelmed by the support of my fellow musicians who given their time for free and the venues who have generously helped us to create such a special film.”

“The Doncaster Foodbank helps thousands of people in our town every year. At Christmas it somehow seems more important than ever to highlight and support their work.”
