Runners determined to raise money for charity despite race being cancelled

Competitors in the race were offered a refund but many decided to donate the money to charity instead.
Alexis Johnson, executive principal of Doncaster Deaf Trust said: “We are extremely grateful to the organisers of this event and the kind runners who chose to donate their money to our charity despite the race not taking place.

Hide AdThe £541.94 donation will be used to provide extra equipment for pupils and students to enhance their learning.
Tony Vout, organiser of Round Donny Run, said: “We are really pleased that a number of people who’d signed up to take part in the run chose to donate their entry fee to Doncaster Deaf Trust.
“We know that our runners will be happy to know that their money has gone to such a good cause.”
