Pupils in hospital after collapsing at school twinned with a Doncaster college

A number of school pupils have been taken to hospital after collapsing at Outwood Academy in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

The school is part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust which includes Adwick’s Outwood Academy among its rosters of schools.

Police said staff at the school, on Clotherholme Road, called for assistance at about 12:30 GMT.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service said 27 people have been affected. It is understood a number of pupils and teachers are affected.

Police are yet to release details but said: “At this time, the safety of all the students and staff at the school is paramount.”
