Doncaster One Direction pop sensation Louis Tomlinson paid tribute to Doncaster Rovers with a discreet plug for the club on The X-Factor.

The boy band star sported red in-earpieces emblazoned with Rovers’ viking badge when he appeared on Sunday night’s ITV show with his band-mates.

Rovers devotee Louis, who is set to become a dad in the New Year, showed his love for the club in front of millions of television viewers as the band performed new single Perfect.

One Direction finished third in the seventh series of The X Factor in 2010 and have since gone on to become one of the world’s biggest musical acts.

Louis got to play for his hometown club in a reserve match against Rotherham United in February 2014 and last summer attempted a takeover of the club with former chairman John Ryan, although the deal collapsed at the eleventh hour.
