Active Fusion, a South Yorkshire-based sporting charity, has recently launched a new project, 'PE Parent', to keep families active and educated in PE during the lockdown.
“Before the lockdown, our team of coaches was delivering face to face PE and we were all a bit stumped on how we could keep up our impact on young people’s lives,” said Head of Operations, Jonathan Allan.

The lessons will be free online and will be sent out in hard copy to any child on the pupil premium scheme in the next two weeks with the support of Get Doncaster Moving.
They have resources for the following: Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, and Special Educational Needs pupils.
Jonathan said: “These lessons will take around 15 to 20 minutes and you do not need any sports equipment to do them.

“They can be delivered in kitchens, living rooms, garages, and gardens and easily fit into your homeschooling routine.”
One example of a lesson plan is a fun twist on the game Rock, Paper, Scissors where the winner has to sprint to an item and the loser attempts to catch them - if they do then they win a point.
As a father himself Jonathan is putting these lessons to the test on his four-year-old son at home - he has these tips for parents who are having to become first-time teachers.

“Let the kids come up with ideas for lessons, if they’re engaged they’re way more likely to be enthusiastic and move for longer.”
