More than sixty people have donated over £2000 to help a severely disabled boy and his family go on holiday to Disney World in Florida.
Jack Kirsopp, aged nine, from Cantley, suffers from a range of severe complex medical needs including supranuclear palsy, bulbar palsy, scoliosis and eptopic heart beat and requires 24-hour care.
He needs specially-trained carers with him round the clock and even when sleeping he is connected to a machine which monitors breathing.
It is not yet known exactly how much the trip will cost, but early estimates suggest it may be around £15,000.
His devoted mum Victoria, aged 31, set up an online donation page two months ago in a bid to kick start fundraising. So far, 64 people have raised £2,045.
Victoria is now busy planning events to raise even more money.
There will be an Easter bake sale on April 11 at Newholme, opposite Branton Garden Centre, at 11am.
There will be a gala and dinner dance at the Keepmoat Stadium, on July 4 from 7.30pm.
