KIDS television channel Nickelodeon has announced One Direction are getting their own show.

It is the latest bonus for the X-Factor finalists in their bid to conquer America, after guest starring in another Nickelodeon show iCarly and predicted to top the Billboard Top 200 album chart later this week, knocking off The Boss Bruce Springsteen.

Nickelodeon confirmed the news on their twitter account.

They tweeted: “The rumors are true, our live-action slate does include a development project for @onedirection. Welcome to the family!”

Details of the show have not yet been revealed, but it is expected the members of the band will play themselves, getting into various scrapes and adventures.

The news comes as the boy band, including former Hall Cross School pupil Louis Tomlinson, have set up their own companies 1D Media and PPM Music, where each of the members will be appointed a director.

By paying themselves a wage through the company, they could save up to 22 per cent from their tax bills.

The What Makes You Beautiful chart toppers will perform later this month at the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, famed for gunging celebrities such as Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake, which is this year being hosted by Will Smith.

However, the news has not been welcomed by all 1D fans, who have urged them to stick to singing on twitter, getting the phrase #1DPleaseDontGoToNick to trend worldwide.
