Nuisance bikes seized in operation

POLICE and council officers seized six motorbikes that were being ridden antisocially during an operation in Conisbrough.

The bikes, worth around £9000, were tearing up and down Steetley Quarry when officers netted them on Sunday, December 18.

Cynthia Ransome, cabinet member for communities, said: “When motorbikes are ridden in these areas it ruins the enjoyment of these spaces for others.”

Sergeant Louise Warbrick added: “Motorcycle nuisance is a priority and we will be conducting operations like this one on a regular basis.”

Enforcement officers also issued seventeen noise abatement notices and took photographs of 21 vehicles which will be seized by the police once the owners are identified.
