North Lincolnshire Council is proposing to close the link road between Staindale Road and Coverdale Road, and will do this by putting bollards across the road.

As part of the Brat Hill Farm housing development, a planning condition was imposed requiring the link road between it and Staindale Road to be closed to motor vehicles (except emergency vehicles).

Putting bollards across the road will comply with this condition. A traffic regulation order will need to be implemented where motor vehicles are prohibited from passing through.

The council is looking for the views of residents who live on and around this area by December 3.

Depending on the views received during the consultation period, warning signs will be put up in advance of any bollards being put in place.

Councillor Neil Poole, cabinet member for Neighbourhoods, said: “We have sent letters out to residents in the immediate area to make them aware of the proposals, and to find out their views. However, we would also welcome views from people who live near or around these roads as this closure will affect them as well.

“This proposal was part of the original planning application for the Brat Hill Farm development, so it is essential that we follow this condition. If you would like to have your say on the proposal, please do so before 3 December. After looking at all the comments, we will then make a final decision.”
