Library services will continue in Maltby with the area’s newly merged Library and Customer Facilities centre open from August 1.
Following a public consultation on a proposed merger, work began in May to relocate Maltby Library into the Joint Service Centre.
Customers are now being informed that the Library will close from Monday July 23, and re-open at the newly-merged facility as Maltby Neighbourhood Hub on Wednesday August 1. The self-service payment kiosks will remain operational in the joint service centre throughout this time.
The merger will create a one stop shop including library services featuring self-service technology, computers and reference facilities, activities and events and a children’s area, as well as a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books (including large print and spoken word).
In addition, customer services, including Council Tax and Housing Benefit appointments, Streetpride, council housing services, Rothercard, blue badges, concessionary travel passes, self-service payment machines and taxi licensing drop-off services, will be available.
In addition there will be access to assisted digital services including Housing Benefit and Council Tax via “Your Account”.
Opening hours for the newly-merged facility will be Monday from 9am to 7pm; Tuesday, from 9am to 2pm; Wednesday, from 9am to 5.30pm; Thursday, 9am to 7pm.
In addition it will be open on Fridauys, 9am to 5.30pm, Saturdays, 9am to 1pm and Sundays, 10am to 2pm.
In addition to these important changes Thurcroft Library will be closing for refurbishment work from Thursday July19.
It will be re-opening on Thursday August 9, when customers visiting the library will be able to benefit from a refreshed and redecorated library space.
During the closure period, customers of both Maltby and Thurcroft can visit any other library in the Borough in order to access services.
