New major roadworks alert for A1 motorway

Drivers are being warned about major work taking place on the A1 (M) at Tickhill which could cause delays for three weeks from mid November.

A £1.9 million resurfacing scheme is required to address serious deterioration of the road surface between junction 34 (Blyth) and junction 35 (M18 Wadworth). The Highways Agency is working with its contractors to minimise disruption - including lifting carriageway closures on a Friday when traffic flows are higher - but some of the work will require a contraflow which is expected to cause around 30 minute delays at peak times.

The contraflow will operate for three weeks from 8pm on November 18 until 6am on December 9.
