A DOCTOR has won a prestigious national award recognising her work in pain management at Montagu Hospital.

Dr Jenny Jessop, consultant in pain management, was awarded the ‘Dawn Ind Memorial Chalice’ from The Neuropathy Trust this month.

The Pain Management Unit perform a variety of treatments, such as epidural injections, cryotherapy and acupuncture.

The Chalice is an annual award which recognises the activities and work of health professionals, caring for those with peripheral neuropathy and neuropathic pain.

Dr Jessop said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank The Neuropathy Trust for this prestigious accolade, which was a total surprise.

“They continually provide the highest quality of pain management for people with Peripheral Neuropathy and Neuropathic Pain. “Receiving the Chalice is a reflection of the excellent work and dedication of each and every member of the Pain Management Unit team.”

The Chalice is in memory of Dawn Louise Ind, one of the Neuropathy Trust’s first local contacts, who died aged 28 from bronchial pneumonia.
