MP calls for local reading project to be extended across country

WENTWORTH and Dearne MP John Healey is calling for a Rotherham reading scheme to be rolled out nationally.

The Labour politician will ask ministers in Parliament to consider extending the Imagination Library initiative to other areas across the country.

Mr Healey, who visited Rotherham Children’s Centre on Friday to see the project in action, said: “Schemes like the Imagination Library help children’s imagination and curiosity to grow, and set them on a path towards a lifetime of loving books.”
