Misterton based Five Villages First Responder group have been chosen by Lincolnshire Co-op as the beneficiaries of their ‘Community Champion’ scheme this summer.
Every time a resident shops at Misterton Co-op and uses their dividend card up until September 7, a donation from the company will go to the first responders.
The group are asking everyone to remember to use their dividend card when they shop at the store to help them raise as much money as possible.
Anyone who has not got a dividend card can apply for one and forms are available in store.
The Community First Responders (CFR) give their time to be on call and are dispatched by the ambulance service following a 999 call involving a medical emergency in the local area.
Because the CFR is nearby in the community, they can proceed straight to the scene and begin to give care to the patient until the arrival of the ambulance.
The scheme is run on a voluntary basis and funded by local donations and fund raising events.
