A 26-year-old man stabbed to death at a Doncaster property has been named by police this afternoon.
Officers investigating the man, who was assaulted at a house on Surrey Street in Balby last month, have today (December 19) named him as Eric Flanagan.
At around 6.15pm on Thursday, November 15 emergency services were called to the property where Mr Flanagan was found with multiple stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital where he remained in a critical condition until he died on Thursday, December 15.
A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out last week, and a police spokesman said Mr Flanagan's family are receiving support from specially-trained officers.
Jonathan Swift, 49, of Seaforth, Liverpool, was charged with attempted murder and criminal damage following the incident.
He appeared at Doncaster Magistrates' court on Thursday, November 17 where he was remanded into custody until his next appearance at court.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Detectives will consult with the Crown Prosecution Service in due course in relation to the initial charge."
