Doncaster pop sensation Louis Tomlinson has been mocked by football club Preston North End on Twitter - and then the club received an angry backlash from fuming One Direction fans. Rovers fan Louis, who made a failed attempted to takeover Rovers in the summer, took to social media to express his upset after North End moved to poach Rovers’ goalkeeper Sam Johnstone last week.
The star wrote: “Shame about @samjohnstone50 leaving . Left us in the *** a bit now !! #DRFC”
But Preston responded to the star’s tweet with a cheeky riposte which read: “@Louis_Tomlinson, Sorry Louis, we didn’t realise @samjohnstone50 was an integral part of 1D. The boy can sing, maybe that’s why he left...”
However, upset One Direction fans, who have a history of leaping to the defence of the singer, also took to social media to attack Preston’s blast.
