The Green Tree at Hatfield is back in business.

The popular Green Tree Inn on the outskirts of Hatfield was re-opened on Friday by Susan Durant, local hero of the community for all the work she does for charity, following two weeks of redecoration.

The venue, which now includes a pizza oven, salad cart, completely new décor throughout and a fresh looking menu, has also employed 16 new members of staff working both kitchen side and front of house.

Kate Everatt, general manager of The Green Tree Inn, said: “We are delighted to be officially back open to the public and the fact that Susan cut the ribbon for us was just perfect.

“The new facilities including a dedicated pizza oven which will allow us to offer homemade delights to eat in or take out, giving us an extra offering for guests to enjoy.”

More than 450 people attended the official opening and will be able to take advantage of discount vouchers distributed at the opening.

The new look also marks the start of the pub's charity campaign, to raise £8,000 across several fundraising events for Cancer Research and two local causes.
