Young Doncaster Rovers fans had a field day when they took over the running of the club for the day.
Scores of junior supporters from school across Doncaster shadowed club staff for Saturday’s 2-0 win over Colchester United at the Keepmoat Stadium with youngsters having a go at everything from selling programmes, helping out in the ticket office, making matchday announcements and even shadowing manager Paul Dickov.
Children working with the Club Doncaster Foundation were invited to apply for “jobs” working at the club.
Marketing and communications manager Ryan Murrant said: “As a club we need to engage more with local schools that are actively working with the foundation.
“The idea of children applying for the jobs encourages children to use their reading and writing skills and it gets them thinking about what type of roles would interest them - it could give them something to aim for later in life.”
The team were presented with certificates by club captain Andy Butler at the end of their working shift.
