HITTING the radio waves was the Isle’s very own Jez Lee last week.

Jez, who runs Owston Ferry-based Fake Faces and Fake Festivals was invited to be the mystery guest on the DJ Chris Evans’ Radio 2 morning show last Wednesday.

He told the Bells/Advertiser how it came about: “Every morning Chris Evans has a three minute mystery guest who has something to do with the topic on the previous day’s show.

“On this day he had posted some pictures on Facebook of producers from his and Simon Mayo’s shows who he said together looked like Simon and Garfunkel.

“He was asking people what they thought.

“That night the show phoned me and said would I like to be the mystery guest for an interview about these producers so I said ‘of course I will do it’.

“I had to look at the photos and make my assessment if they looked like them. They didn’t really, but they were pretty close in a funny sort of way.”

He added: “Chris has no idea who the mysery guest is and he has to fire questions at them to work it out.

“I was sat in my office at Owston Ferry live on the phone to Chris Evans with nine million listeners tuning in!

“It was almost like talking to an old friend and he was easy to chat to as I grew up watching him on TFI Friday.

“I told him the producers would need a bit of work

“It was good, great fun.”
