Kevin Bouttell, aged 35, was jailed for five years after he was caught as he made a heroin pick-up in the Blue Bell pub car park in Yarm, Cleveland on Saturday December 12.

Bouttell, of Doncaster, was jailed for five years and banned from driving for 12 months after he admitted possession with intent to supply heroin, possession of criminal property and driving while disqualified.

The case was heard at Teeside Crown Court, Middlesbrough.

Police are warning others who may try to sell drugs.

Det Insp Steve Kappel of Cleveland Police’s Community Drugs Enforcement Team said: “Drug dealing causes an increase in crime and antisocial behaviour in communities and I am therefore very pleased with the sentence passed by the court.

“I hope it sends a strong warning to anyone tempted to travel to Cleveland for the purposes of drug dealing - we will always do all we can to bring you before the courts and to justice.”

He faces a Proceeds of Crime confiscation case in July.
