Hundreds of Volkswagen campervan enthusiasts are expected to flock to the third Doncaster Classic VW festival when it returns this weekend.
The festival, held at Parklands Sports and Social Club, is being organised by Clive Tatham – who said this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever before.
More than 200 visitors have also bought tickets to camp overnight, with many more due to attend for one day of the three-day festival, which runs from Friday to Sunday.
Clive, aged 78, said: “This is fast becoming one of the favourite festivals in Yorkshire. Each year the show grows in popularity.
“People come from all over the country, we have somebody coming this year from Hereford.
“People do comment that it’s one of the best shows they have gone to.
“I am very happy with the way it’s progressed since it first started,
“Ticket sales increase every year, and people have commented how nice the site is too since we moved to Parklands.
“It is a beautiful site.
“It’s well worth a visit to this year’s festival. We have a lot going on and it’s a cheap day out.
“It looks like it’s going to be a great success and the weather is forecast to be good too.
“Come and enjoy yourself.”
Visitors to the festival can expect a range of vintage vehicles on display, competitions, a car boot sale, various stalls, children’s entertainment and food and drink.
There will also be performances from at least six bands and two DJs, though the final number of acts is yet to be confirmed.
Tickets are still available, but can only be bought on the gate.
Weekend camping tickets cost £17.50 per adult and are free for children under 16-years-old.
Day tickets are priced at £5 per day, per adult. Dogs are allowed if they are on a leash.
Free car parking is available.
The festival is open from 9am until 11.30pm Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20.
The gates open for campers at the site, Wheatley Hall Road, at 2pm on Friday, September 18.
