Hot shots Bang Bang Romeo to play Tramlines main stage

South Yorkshire rockers planning to make a big bang at Tramlines this year are Doncaster's own Bang Bang Romeo.

Band members Richard Gartland, Joel Phillips, Ross Cameron and Anastasia Walker - daughter of TV actor Chris Walker - will play the 8,000 capacity Ponderosa park main stage, supporting Catfish and the Bottlemen, on Sunday, at 3pm.

Bang Bang Romeo bring their unique brand of dark, emotive, 60’s inspired rock ‘n’ roll back to Yorkshire after winning widespread critical acclaim, with performances at prestigious events like Isle Of Wight Festival and Dot To Dot.

They were singled out as festival highlights alongside the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Blur.

Debut single Johannesburg saw BBR get BBC Radio 1 airplay, with Huw Stephens labelling them with a sound ‘like a Tarantino soundtrack’.

With imminent follow up single Invitation a snarling and fiery statement of intent, the band arrive on the Tramlines mains tage ready to deliver another powerful performance as a must see live act, with legendary Rolling Stones producer Chris Kimsey describing the band as “epic, a Bond theme in the making.”

Anastasia said: “The last time we supported Catfish and the Bottlemen was in front of just 100 people at Tramlines three years ago. This weekend is going to be amazing. We’ve got other fantasic dates lined up for the rest of the year.”
