Historic Doncaster venue opens up to public

DONCASTER’S historic Mansion House will open its doors to the public today, Friday April 19, for tours around the Georgian landmark.

The building, is being opened up on selected days this year following the opening of Doncaster Council’s new civic officers and the transfer of council meetings to the new venue at Waterdale.

Built in 1747 and opened up in 1749, it is one of only three Mansion House buildings left in the country.

Entry to the open day is free and it runs from 10am until 2pm.
