The British Heart Foundation community fundraising branch is hosting an open evening in Bawtry for people to find out more about how they can help.
The free event at the Crown Hotel in Bawtry on Thursday, May 1 at 7.30pm is open to all.
It will include a talk by a cardiac nurse on ‘The Mediterranean Way’ and a very personal story by a parent whose 13-year-old daughter underwent a heart transplant two years ago.
Entertainment will be provided by Bawtry’s own Steve Womack.
BHF supports research that has transformed the lives of people living with heart and circulatory conditions but so many people still need help and there is much work to still be done. This is why the charity urgently needs the support of people in Doncaster to get together now and again, and raise vital funds to help the BHF continue its life-saving work.
Emma Gosling, from the Bawtry and Doncaster fundraising branch, said: “We enjoy fundraising so much that we get together every few months to plan the next event in support of the charity leading the fight against heart disease. We also need people who can help us at our events on an occasional basis.”
