Star Isle actress Sheridan Smith has sent a message to the Pride of the Isle committee, with her best wishes for a great awards night on Saturday.
The patron of the charity is currently starring in a hit London revival of Funny Girl. She had hoped to attend the glittering awards ceremony in person, but is prevented from doing so by the demands of work.
Her mother, Marilyn, will read a personal statement from Sheridan at the event, to take place at Westwoodside.
Pride of the Isle committee chair Leesa Sharpe said: “Sheridan sends her love for a wonderful evening and says she will be with us all next year.
“She is very busy with Funny Girl and does not like to disappoint people by using a stand-in. We are all so very proud of her.”
Last year’s awards raised £10,000, split with Bluebell Wood.
