Get on track

A CANCER charity is appealing for Thorne folk to get on their running shoes and help raise money for a good cause.

Yorkshire Cancer Research has more than 300 guaranteed places available for the 2011 Bupa Great North Run on September 18.

Last year 465 runners represented the charity raising more than £100,000 which will help fund research into cancer cures and drugs.

The 13 mile course begins in Newcastle and goes through Gateshead before finishing in South Shields.

All participants will receive a special fundraising pack which includes a Yorkshire Cancer Research T-shirt and tips on training. Minimum age for entries is 18.
