1 Funk your life up

Folksy soul man Paolo Nutini is rounding off a successful year with his biggest tour to date that arrives in the region this week.

Paolo’s third album, Caustic Love, has been hailed as his best yet by fans and critics alike.

The Scottish singer and his talented 10-piece band have spent much of the year touring the UK and Europe with not to-be-missed live shows and now arrive in Sheffield for what promises to be a very special performance.

People attending the gig can expect to hear songs such as Pencil Full of Lead, Last Request, Jenny Don’t Be Hasty and Scream (Funk My Life Up)

2 Herculean stage show

One extraordinary superhero with 12 impossible tasks to complete – the story of Hercules is retold in a very special version of the production which arrives in Doncaster on Saturday.

This story of Hercules is told through hilarious dance routines and amazing speciality acts.

It’s a modern cabaret the whole family will enjoy.

You get a pantomime, a comic take on history and a party all rolled into one side-splitting adventure.

3 This charming man

Former Smiths guitarist, Johnny Marr, is back on the road again, after the release of his second solo album, and returns to Yorkshire this week.

Marr’s shows, in support of his critically acclaimed Top 10 debut solo album The Messenger, have inspired a rapturous reception for his ability to combine the best of his new material with select highlights from The Smiths’ discography plus others from his extensive back catalogue.

4 Get ready to rock

Award-winning smash hit Broadway musical Rock of Ages arrives in South Yorkshire, direct from the West End. Still rocking after five years on Broadway and following three years of ovation-inducing performances in London’s West end, the legendary Rock of Ages now comes to the Lyceum Theatre.

This 80s-themed hilarious musical features over 30 eyebrow scorching tunes including: Don’t Stop Believin’, We Built This City, The Final Countdown and I Want To Know What Love Is.

5 Racing fun

One of the biggest events in the region’s racing calendar comes to Doncaster Racecourse this week.

The two day Racing Post trophy event starts tomorrow and this year people attending will also be able to meet legendary cricketer, Graham Gooch, at a special signing on Saturday afternoon.
