Stand up comedian Russell Kane will become one of the first stars to appear at Doncaster’s new performance venue Cast when it opens later this year.
The popular funnyman, who has previously appeared at the Civic Theatre, is scheduled to play at the new £22 million venue on November 20.
Eagerly awaited details of the venue’s autumn programme have yet to be revealed and there have been growing fears that shows traditonally staged at the Civic Theatre, which closed in March, will not be staged at Cast, which forms the centrepiece of Doncaster’s new civic and cultural quarter.
The venue is scheduled to open during the St Leger Festival in September and there have been growing calls for the venue to unveil its programme ahead of opening.
The comic’s appearance at Cast is listed on his website in the tour dates section with an announcement “tickets on sale soon.”
