Tony said: “We improve the local area by doing the litter picks which is great for the people who live in that community.
“It also makes people think twice about littering if they pass us collecting it.”
The group meets to litter pick about once a month and is always looking for new volunteers.

“We collect at least ten bags of trash each time we go.
“We get things such as pizza boxes, cans, bottles, and dog waste.”
If you want to go along to the litter pick all they ask is that you wear clothes and shoes suitable for the weather - this weekend Storm Ellen is predicted to bring more rain and wind.
The litter pick isn’t just good for the environment - Tony says it can be a great way to socialise with people from your neighborhood.

“We’re all working together with the common goal of making the area better.”
One area the group often focuses on is the walking path between the Bliss Bridal shop and Cusworth Hall where litter accumulates from the frequent walkers.
“It’s never a good idea to have plastics lying around - plastic bags and crisp packets can be lethal towards the nature living in this area,” he continued.
“The smell of food attracts animals and they can get stuck inside the packaging.
“When we remove the litter we are making a better habitat for nature.”
