IT may not be R2D2 – but this robotic creation dreamed up by pupils at a Doncaster school won their class a prize.
Youngsters at Danum School created the vehicle to carry out a task in a school contest for year nine pupils as part of a Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths day.
All of the pupils in the year helped design, build and test vehicles which could negotiate a difficult course and pop a balloon containing a message to decode.
Pupils built their models in the morning during the full-day competition, and then took them through their manoeuvres in the afternoon.
The winning class was 9EY who received a trophy and breakfast for the whole form.
A school spokesman said: “The winners were marked on speed, aesthetics and presentation.”
