School hits back over ratings website omission

A Doncaster school has hit back at a website which grades schools in Doncaster, after it was not included in its list despite a catalogue of success.

Hungerhill School, in Edenthorpe, said it was disappointed that its name has not been included in the published top ten secondary schools in Doncaster, based on the School Guide website secondary school league table rankings.

Helen Redford-Hernandez, headteacher at Hungerhill, said: “The website only publishes data for schools which have post 16 provision yet on all published measurable outcomes Hungerhill School compares favourably to all of the highest performing schools nationally.

“The government’s DfE performance tables and the outstanding Ofsted rating highlight the school as being one of the highest performing schools in South Yorkshire. The school has recently been selected to become a National Teaching School as a result of its excellent teaching standards and student outcomes.”
